This may not be that directly related to the app, and may kind of be political. Please bear with me for a few minutes.
I don’t know how many of you know about this. Although I’m working for a Japanese company, in Tokyo, I am not a Japanese at all. I was actually raised in Hong Kong.
Speaking about Hong Kong, if you have read the news, you should have had a glimpse of what’s going on there lately.
Protests, against the government, against the police force.
What are they fighting for? Independence from China? No. Democracy? Freedom? Too broad.
To be specific, currently they are fighting against one thing: the injustice, unfair judgment, prosecution, and use of force executed by the police force. It’s not against China, though many have misunderstood.
That’s all I want you to know. If you want to know more, you can simply go to youtube and search “Hong Kong police”. You can see the videos of what they did under the cameras, and there are more than that. They are also accused of the violence and terrible things they did not in front of the camera.
You don’t have to believe me. I am not even asking you to search for more (unless you really want to know). I am not asking you to support the protest. Hong Kong is not your city, and China is not your country.
It’s not your responsibility.
So what am I trying to make a point here?
Many people in the society value economy, more than everything else. I just want to say, economy is not everything.
Money is important, but there are things more important than it. There are values that are as significant as, if not more value-deserved than, economy.
Just like people saying “work-life balance”. As an individual, work is not everything. As a society, economy is not everything as well.
And as an individual in the society, please lay your eyes on more than economy, more than money.
I’m not asking as a member in this app. I’m only asking as a human being.
Cuz it is your responsibility.
So, what does it have to do with this app?
OneLiver is actually a small community. Of course we all want to earn money, but just like what I want you to do in the society, we want you to do the same thing here.
Think beyond money. Think beyond your personal earnings.
We don’t want this to be an adult app. And I think most of you don’t want to earn in that way if you have a choice.
Why are there men asking for “shows”?
Cuz there are people sending them inappropriate templates the they first got in the app. They were told to believe that this is an adult app.
And then they tell the other girls. It makes you think you have to “show”, and this becomes a vicious circle.
You must stop doing that.
