Your profile picture is the first thing that the viewers decide to call you or not. That’s why its so important on OneLiver and today we are sharing more hacks when you do a selfie! The tips are from a Youtuber called Rachel Aust and I actually find them useful!

 

1 – Good lighting is the key!

You don’t have to buy expensive lighting for a good selfie and indeed the best light is free, which is the daylight. Try to find a spot in your house which has SOFT Daylight because it usually contours feminine face line better. And contrasting light would give more masculine feeling to a picture. You can also try to use a reflector to bounce some of the light the ease out the shadow on your face so that your wrinkles or facial line could be lighter. If you do not have a reflector, trust me, a plain white paper would do the same as well!!

2 – Check your background

There are many of the failed selfie which shows gross stuff in the background, which are just not flattering. You can try to do some decoration to your room (at least where the frame shows), or if you are not good at decorating, just take selfie in front of a clean background, it could be just a plain wall. And I suggest not to take a selfie in the washroom, because it doesn’t look comfortable enough 🙁

3 – Find an angel to make your face more symmetrical

No one’s face is totally symmetrical but we can always trick people’s eyes that we are! For example according to Rachel, if you have uneven height or your brows, do not take photos in the straight front, instead take pictures from the side you have upper brow or where your fringe is parting. Of course it is not a must, you still have to experiment with your face!

4 – Play with the angel!

It’s not always better to just put the camera higher, what Rachel was trying to explain is that your face would look better if you hold your camera in a regular level but tilt down a bit. You face would look slimmer and your eyes would look bigger at the same time 🙂
